Behind the song: ''Take a Bow'' by Madonna
''When I was initially writing "Take a Bow" the inspiration for the song was an actor, but I wanted the male character in the video to be a matador instead because I wanted the video to be about an obsessive, tragic love story that doesn't work out in the end and a matador would be more visually effective in expressing the emotion of the song.'' - Madonna
''The idea going in was to juxtapose my singing style with a hardcore hip-hop sensibility and have the finished product still sound like a Madonna record. I began the process by meeting with the hip-hop producers whose work I most admired. It was important, if I were to use a variety of collaborators, that the end product sound cohesive and thematically whole. I wasn't interested in the variety pack approach.'' - Madonna
''Using strings in the song was a Madonna's suggestion, and it was Nellee Hooper who actually arranged the strings. She had worked with them before but for me it was a new experience" - Babyface
