"I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" is a power ballad performed by American hard rock band Aerosmith for the 1998 film Armageddon. Written by Diane Warren, the song debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (the first #1 for the band after 28 years together). It is one of two songs performed by the band for the film, the other being "What Kind of Love Are You On". The song stayed at number one for four weeks from September 5 to September 26, 1998. The song also stayed at number 1 for several weeks in several other countries. In the UK, the song peaked at number four, becoming Aerosmith's highest charting song in the UK, where it was the 17th best-selling single of 1998, and has sold over a million copies.

That's the best song ever my husband was dieing and no one can really understand how deep those words are real to me .he was at home and i didn't want to close my eyes or go to sleep for fear he would pass and i wasn't there.Its been 16 yrs our daughter is 17 and every time I hear that song i cry

Shawn, I lost my husband as well, 4/9/13. He had got us backstage access tickets to Aerosmith 12/13/12 for my wedding gift. We put a pictorial memorial together for the funeral. I added this song randomly, not knowing how to time them together. As it turned out, when I Don't Want To Close My Eyes ended, the pic came up just at that moment of us with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. It's very special to me too.

My husband was also very I'll,we would sing this song together. I cry tears of joy and love ever time I hear it. My husband didn't make it but, the memories of this song will live forever in my mind. Love Aerosmith!

I don't want to miss a thing was and proably still my favorite song.Love it and love so many of ya"ll songs that I could sit and listen to them back to back all day.Love you guys and want to see you guys in concert but ya"ll don"don"t come close enough for me to get to one of them.Wish you guys would come to Memphis again.Love to see ya"ll 1 time and close enough to really get get a good seat.Love Aerosmith.
